At a mere 840 grams, it boasts one of the lightest frames in the world. Yet, Cervelo's R3 SL is much more than a race or climbing bike. This gossamer wonder meets all of Cervelo's strength and durability standards, too, even the rigors of the Pro Tour! Thanks to Cervelo's stiff Squoval top and down tubes, oversize bottom bracket and Smartwall optimization, this flyer rockets forward like you've got the mega wattage of the pro peloton's strongest riders, while also offering remarkable compliance for a super-smooth ride. And you'll love the light, smooth and stiff Wolf carbon fork, beautiful Easton Circuit wheels and the Shimano Dura-Ace components that nicely match the R3 SL's amazing potential.

Cervelo optimizes the carbon lay-up in the R3 with stiffening plies added to the sides of the tubes where they have the greatest effect in resisting bending. They are feathered to distribute the loads into the structure. They also add more plies to the bottom of the down tube, the head tube and the top tube to distribute the loads from potential head-tube impacts. And, they also add Kevlar to prevent catastrophic failure.
    
Cervelo's Squoval (square/oval) down tube and chainstays are optimized for the highest-possible stiffness-to-weight ratio.

The R3 features some of the most amazing seatstays on any bike. They are a true testament to the design skills of Cervelo's engineers. Because of Cervelo's Squoval chainstays, the seatstays only need to provide torsional stiffness. So, the R3's act as leaf springs in the vertical plane for the ultimate combination of strength, comfort, stiffness and lightness.

Cervelo frames are covered by a lifetime warranty.
