Cervelo Soloist Carbon Dura Ace Complete Bike
The Cervelo Solist Carbon is quickly becoming the frame of choice foramature and pro road racers everywhere. In this case nothing is as goodas success: Jens Voigt put his Soloist Carbon to good use in his stage9 breakaway at the 2006 Tour, perfectly showcasing his and his bike'sstrengths in a massive attack. Cervelo optimizes the carbon lay-up in the R3 with stiffening plies added to the sides of the tubes where they have the greatest effect in resisting bending. They are feathered to distribute the loads into the structure. They also add more plies to the bottom of the down tube, the head tube and the top tube to distribute the loads from potential head-tube impacts. And, they also add Kevlar to prevent catastrophic failure.
Cervelo's Squoval (square/oval) down tube and chainstays are optimized for the highest-possible stiffness-to-weight ratio.
The R3 features some of the most amazing seatstays on any bike. They are a true testament to the design skills of Cervelo's engineers. Because of Cervelo's Squoval chainstays, the seatstays only need to provide torsional stiffness. So, the R3's act as leaf springs in the vertical plane for the ultimate combination of strength, comfort, stiffness and lightness.

Cervelo P3 Carbon Frameset 07
Now in its second year with new black and white paint for 2007. For the past few years, the staff at Cervelo have been working on further improvements for the P3 line of bikes. Though the P3 design is already very clean aerodynamically, they saw the potential for improvement in the headtube area, the shape of the seat tube and how it meets up with the seat stays. To achieve these improvements they had to switch to carbon, as it allows designers to make certain shapes not possible in other materials. The result has been the new standard in time trial bikes - The P3 Carbon!
