Colorless gas, may react voilently with reducing agents and water.


Very toxic by inhalation. Very corrosive to eyes, respiratory system and skin.


Sulfur tetrafluoride is usefull in organic chemistry for the replacement of carbonyl oxygen by fluorine atom.
