General Information:
With the development of the Chinese craftworks and gifts industry over the past 20 years, China has become the worlds largest manufacturing and export country with the annual production value of more than 150 billion yuan and the annual increase rate of nearly 20 percent. In recent years, a great number of overseas orders of craftworks and gifts have been transferred to China, mainly from the European and USA general merchandise industry, multinational chain supermarkets, and professional distributors, etc. Meanwhile, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and World Expo Shanghai 2010 will also bring great business opportunities to the craftworks and gifts industry. Every year, the exhibition attracts many manufacturers and merchants engaged in arts and crafts, gifts and adornments to gather in Yiwu from Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Middle East, China mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and other countries and regions. Since 2004, this exhibition has been held in.Yiwu regularly for four sessions. The size of the exhibition floor has been expanded from 6500 m2 originally to 15000 m2. The number of professional visitors and buyers has also been increased up to nearly 34000 persons, which almost doubled the previous year. The trade sales on the exhibition are accumulated to over 600 million yuan. Looking back to the trade fair held in March, 2007, the super-large exhibition area with the main exhibition hall of 15000 m2 and the secondary hall of 1500000 m2 attracted 33785 regional high-quality buyers across the world, so as to realize the sales of trade up to 342 million yuan. The buyers came from North America, Europe, Middle East, Japan, South Korea and other main export markets. It was hoped that more products of the enterprises of arts and crafts, gifts and adornments can be sold and promoted throughout the country and even around the world, thus establishing the image of the Chinese small commodities in the world and letting the world learn about China as well. In order to promote the development of the Chinese arts & crafts and gifts industry, to strengthen the national and international exchanges on information, technology and products, to build up a promotion, display and corporation platform for the manufacturers and distributors of the industry and to accelerate the trade transactions, The 5th China Yiwu International Arts & Crafts and Gifts & Household Supplies Expo 2008 will be held on March 10-12, 2008 at Yiwu China Commodities City Exhibition Center in Yiwu, Zhejiang, P.R. China. The promotion work for the Expo has been fully started. It is estimated that the exhibition area will reach up to 17000 m2.
